At night I can see you peering through the tallness of the trees

Sending messages across the world and beyond the seven seas

Your face looks as though it is wearing a frown

As you survey your kingdom from on high while looking down

 

You’ve been with me for a long time and I’ve spoken to you as a child

You’ve watched my ever changing moods and controlled my deepest desires

And like all of us I can see that you too have a dark side

So who controls you while you control the tide?

 

Whenever you’re around I feel my emotions run high

I want to be around you even when I die

Like a particle from the sun I want to bring you life

But I know that would be impossible no matter how hard I try

 

Before long you will be coming around again

And I’ll be here to talk with you like two very old friends
